Glyn Peter Machin

Glyn Peter Machin is an English designer of international standing characterized by a dedication to intelligent functional design and exceptional standards in craftsmanship. Glyn's work is displayed throughout the world within wide variety of showrooms, residences, resorts, hospitality environments and luxury superyachts.

Regarded as one of the most sought after and prominent designers of exterior furniture Glyn has collaborated with global companies such as Gloster, Summit Furniture, McGuire Furniture, HBF, Hickory Chair, Donghia and Odegaard. As well creating products and collections for the projects of major interior design/architecture studios Glyn also holds a number of US design patents.

Accumulating years of travel around the world soaking up a vast array of different cultures, lifestyles and architecture stimulates inspiration for the creation of a wide portfolio of collections and products encompassing a board spectrum of materials, styles, form and function.

Following a similar path in his professional career to that of many Danish Modern icons Glyn was first educated in woodworking before entering the world of design and often quotes “the knowledge and experience of how to make furniture is an invaluable tool when designing furniture”.

After gaining experience working for manufacturers in the USA and Asia Glyn relocated to the design drive culture of Denmark, Scandinavia to establish his own studio which specializes in the design of furniture and other luxury products. A specialty of the studio is merging traditional artisan English craftsmanship, methods and techniques with the contemporary approach of form and function within Danish Modern design. The combination of this vast combined heritage of skills are evident in much of Glyn's work.
