With furniture designs that are characterised by clean timeless lines and comfortable proportions, Fred Doughty's award-winning style has evolved from the indoors out in a career spanning two decades.
Fred studied design at the Rhode Island School of Design where he received both a Bachelors of Fine Arts and Bachelors of Industrial Design degrees, he then continued his training at Art Center College of Design in California.
After being the driving force behind the success of the design consultant companies of Brown Jordan Furniture and Price Pfister Faucets in his position of Designer Director, in 1998 Frederic founded his own design office, Premises Design in Ventura, California, with the goal of collaborating with a wide variety of manufacturers, to develop products of award-winning quality.
Doughty has won three Pinnacle Awards from the American Society of Furniture Designers. He also won awards in International Interior Design Association and SCFMA Design Excellence contests.
